Carechoice Nursing Home, Parnell Road

Ganson Building & Civil Engineering Ltd. delivered the design and construction of a modern, four-storey, 143-bed energy-efficient nursing home in Dublin City, completed for €20 million.

The facility features ensuite bedrooms with natural light and ventilation, heat-recovery systems for bathrooms and utilities, and communal areas including dining, sitting, TV, reflection, and meditation rooms. A reinforced basement car park, surface parking, bicycle racks, and landscaped grounds were also provided.

Construction used modern methods including precast frames, POD bathrooms, and offsite-manufactured kitchens to accelerate the programme. The building achieved an A2 BER rating, with high-performance insulation, fire safety systems, and sustainable orientation to maximise natural light and heat.

All M&E systems were tested and commissioned, with comprehensive user training and Soft Landings provided. Graphic-rich O&M and Safety Manuals were handed over, and the project was completed on time, within budget, and to the client’s full satisfaction in June 2023.
