Crematorium
Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council · Newtownabbey
Project Overview
This project is the second crematorium built in Northern Ireland since Roselawn in 1961, providing a much-needed, state-of-the-art facility for families and mourners. It includes a chapel, memorial garden, and columbarium for the interment of ashes.
Set within a parkland landscape, the single-storey building is approached by a tree-lined avenue overlooking a central lake. Walking paths, wildflower meadows, and seating areas create a peaceful setting for reflection.
The scheme also includes car parking, improved access from Doagh Road, and a carefully designed landscape centred around a feature water element. As the planting matures, the site will develop into a serene and dignified space for remembrance.
