Moorehall Nursing Home – Ardee, Co. Louth
Ganson Building & Civil Engineering Ltd. delivered the construction of a new energy-efficient two-storey, 44-bed western extension to the live, protected Moorehall Nursing Home, while also refurbishing and modernising the existing facility to A2 BER standards.
The project used traditional construction methods including blockwork, reinforced concrete frames, precast floors and stairs, and a prefabricated insulated truss roof. Works included careful restoration of joinery, plaster, and decorative features, soft and hard landscaping, fire safety upgrades, and full M&E installation, all connected to the live infrastructure.
All systems, including fire safety, mechanical, and electrical installations, were tested and commissioned. The project was completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard of energy efficiency, sustainability, and finish.
