Department of Education and Skills · Dublin
Project Overview
The redevelopment of St. Thomas’ Junior National School forms part of the Department of Education’s ADAPT Schools Programme, delivering a modern, purpose-built primary school campus.
The project comprises the demolition of the existing school buildings and the construction of a new c. 4,998 sq.m part two- and three-storey primary school. The new facility will provide 27 mainstream classrooms, a 3-class Special Educational Needs (SEN) unit, and a full range of ancillary teaching and support spaces.
Works also include the provision of temporary accommodation to enable phased construction on a live school site, ensuring uninterrupted operation throughout the build programme.
Externally, the development incorporates new play areas, staff parking, set-down spaces, cycle parking, boundary upgrades, and full site landscaping, along with associated infrastructure and service connections.
Delivered under a Public Works Contract, the scheme is carefully phased to facilitate safe construction within an active school environment while delivering a high-quality, future-focused learning facility.
